Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers about how PureWave works, its safety, and what to expect.

🍼 Safety
Yes. PureWave is completely chemical-free and releases nothing into the air — no vapours, no toxins, no smoke, no fragrance. It works purely through adaptive ultrasonic sound frequencies that are inaudible to humans, making it one of the safest mosquito repellent options for rooms where infants and newborns sleep.

✓ Chemical-free ✓ No airborne substances ✓ Certified non-toxic
PureWave does not release any chemicals or sprays into the air, so it poses no inhalation risk to pets. The ultrasonic frequency range 20–65 kHz is designed to be disruptive to mosquitoes specifically. If you have concerns about your pet, we recommend placing the device in a room they don't frequent during the initial few days of use.
No. PureWave is certified chemical-free, non-toxic, and radiation-free. It carries CE RoHS FCC certifications. It works by emitting variable ultrasonic frequencies — sound waves beyond human hearing range — not by releasing any substance into the environment. There is no smell, no smoke, and no residue.
Yes. Since PureWave releases no chemicals, fumes, or airborne substances, it is safe for use during pregnancy. It is specifically recommended as an alternative to chemical vaporisers and coils for pregnant women and households with young children.
⚡ How It Works
PureWave emits adaptive ultrasonic frequencies between 20 kHz and 65 kHz — sound waves that are inaudible to humans but create a highly uncomfortable environment for mosquitoes. The "adaptive" part means the frequency continuously shifts, preventing mosquitoes from habituating to a single frequency over time. This is what makes it more effective than older single-frequency ultrasonic devices.

🔊 20–65 kHz range 🔄 Continuously shifting 👂 Silent to humans
Unlike chemical sprays or coils that kill mosquitoes on contact, PureWave works by making your indoor space progressively unwelcoming to mosquitoes. The ultrasonic waves don't kill — they disrupt. Over 7–10 days of continuous use, mosquitoes stop entering the treated zone as a conditioned response.

Most customers notice a significant reduction after the first 10 days. The benefit of this approach: zero toxins involved. The same property that makes it safe for babies is why it works gradually rather than instantly.
Most ultrasonic repellers emit a single fixed frequency. Mosquitoes can adapt to a constant frequency within a few days, dramatically reducing effectiveness. PureWave uses an Adaptive Emission System (AES) that continuously varies the frequency across a 20–65 kHz range — preventing mosquito habituation and maintaining effectiveness with prolonged use.
PureWave repels, it does not kill. The ultrasonic frequencies make the environment uncomfortable for mosquitoes, causing them to avoid the area. You will not find dead mosquitoes — instead you will notice fewer mosquitoes entering and disturbing your space over time. This is completely expected and is a sign the device is working.
🏠 Usage & Setup
PureWave is effective in rooms up to approximately 150 sq ft. For a standard Indian bedroom (10×12 ft to 10×15 ft), one unit is sufficient. For larger rooms, open-plan spaces, or living rooms above 150 sq ft, we recommend using two units placed at opposite ends of the room.
Plug PureWave into a socket at mid-wall height (2–3 feet from the floor) with no large furniture directly in front of it. The ultrasonic waves travel in a 360° pattern from the device — placing it near the centre of the wall, rather than behind a wardrobe or curtain, gives the best room coverage.
Yes — a closed room with AC is the ideal environment for PureWave. Ultrasonic frequencies are most effective in enclosed spaces. Open windows and high ventilation can reduce effectiveness as mosquitoes can enter faster than the device can deter them. Closed, air-conditioned rooms maximise the device's impact.
PureWave is designed for enclosed indoor spaces only. In open outdoor areas, ultrasonic frequencies dissipate rapidly and cannot maintain the concentration needed to deter mosquitoes. For balconies or gardens, we recommend using citronella-based essential oil products from the Fruik range instead.
⚖️ vs. Other Repellents
The key difference is what they release into your home's air. Chemical vaporisers work by heating and releasing insecticidal compounds (typically pyrethroid-based) into the air. PureWave releases nothing into the air and works purely through sound frequency.

If you have infants, pregnant women, asthma or allergy sufferers in the home, or simply prefer a chemical-free household, PureWave is the better choice. For immediate on-demand mosquito killing, a chemical spray acts faster — but PureWave wins on long-term, daily home safety.
Mosquito nets physically block entry but require setup every night, restrict airflow, and don't address mosquitoes already in the room. PureWave covers the whole room passively — plug in and leave, no setup required.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Many customers use both for maximum protection, especially in high-mosquito areas during peak seasons.
📦 Product Info
No. PureWave is completely refill-free with no consumables. Once you plug it in, there is nothing to replace, refill, or reorder — ever. The only ongoing cost is the negligible electricity it uses (under 1W), which amounts to approximately ₹1/month in electricity.
PureWave consumes less than 1 watt of power. Running it 24 hours a day for a full month costs approximately ₹0.70–₹1.00 in electricity — effectively zero running cost compared to vaporisers (regular refills every 30–45 days) or coils (daily repurchase).
The LED status light indicates that PureWave is powered on and actively operating. It is designed to be low-intensity so it does not disturb sleep. If the LED is off, check that the device is fully plugged into the socket.
